Malay weddings almost always involve the exchanging of gifts between the bride and groom, and nine (point nine) times out of ten you’ll see hantaran trays of confectionery, perfume, a nice shirt and tie combo, a wristwatch, a phone … and then there’s this wedding.
Probably wanting to remind her husband-to-be how no-nonsense she plans to be for their life together, this bride decided to present the groom with a no-holds-barred air compressor – prettied up with a red ribbon and bow – as part of her wedding hantaran.
Is her husband a jackhammer operator? A deep-sea diver? Does he constantly get flat tires? Nodoby knows.
Needless to say, this photo is spreading like air-compressor-blown wildifre on the internets – and we’re hoping this will inspire prospective newlyweds to get more creative with their nuptial gifts in the future. Because we need the entertainment.
