Rupert Murdoch, media mogul and Executive Chairman (and tarnished former CEO) of News Corp, went to Twitter to air his thoughts on the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines MH370 the only way he knew how – abrasively. In one deft (and pretty tonedeaf) tweet, he manages to dredge up spectres of Jihadist militancy, anti-Russian protectionism, and an in for the United States to get into China’s good books:
The reaction of the world’s amassed Twitterati has ranged from incredulous to outraged.
How Murdoch’s pet theory hasn’t made a splash on his various media holdings, which include Fox News and The Wall Street Journal, is anyone’s guess. Maybe they’re scrambling to fact check him.
