A 15-year-old girl was killed in an accident on the Kesas Highway on Wednesday.
According to The Star Online, the incident occured when the teen, who reportedly ran away from home, was crossing the highway from left to right at 2.40pm.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Legal staff officer DSP Shafie Daud told the news portal that the victim, Chai Ying Xue, was believed to be hit by a car on the left lane before she was flung onto the second lane where she was hit by a lorry travelling in that lane.
The victim reportedly sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
DSP Shafie also told The Star that according to the victim’s father, she left home about a month ago. Her family has been informed about the accident.
Her remains were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem.
