Rosmah Mansor wants women cybertroopers who will defend her honour online

Malaysia’s First Lady, Rosmah Mansor today called for an NGO to train women in information technology (IT) … so that they could help counter online criticism against Rosmah.

The Prime Minister’s wife made the remarks at a ceremony in honour of 1,000 Indian graduates of a skills training course conducted by the National Affirmative Action Movement (NAAM), jointly organised by the MIC.

She also said she’d be able to do more to help the NGO if it helped in efforts to speak up against her detractors online.

“Better teach them IT to know how to answer back to those nasty people,” Rosmah said, as reported by The Malay Mail Online‘s Yiswaree Palansamy.

She urged the graduates of the programme to stand by her, which entailed that they should protect her.

“Stand by me means, you have to protect me… be in front of me and protect me, please.”

We’re not sure how standing by someone and being in front of them can happen at the same time, but that’s probably just a figure of speech.
