Remember the RM10 million that was put aside under the 2015 Budget to help women return to the workforce?
You probably don’t, so the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is reminding everyone that the allocation announced last year would be used for its Career Re-entry Grant — a plan meant to support mothers who had stopped working to return to the workplace.
Bernama reports that the RM10 million grant will be given through Talent Corp Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp).
Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim explained how it works: the grant would comprise two aspects — Workforce Resourcing Grant and Work Retention Grant. These grants are supposed to help companies with recruitment cost and investment on technology. It is also meant for companies that are able to retain these women in the workforce for more than six months.
“This initiative will also support employers in meeting their human capital needs, and to increase diversity and inclusiveness at the workplace in contributing to the long-term success of businesses,” Rohani was quoted as saying.
Thirty companies were reportedly present at the launch of this grant, ready to meet with women who were eager to re-join the workforce.
