Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos, leader of the pro-Malay rights and Malay unity group the Red Shirts, isn’t just a lover of disruptive, arguably unnecessary rallies.
He’s also not just man who likes posting shower selfies, in the name of water disruption.
He’s also someone who will take cases of perfectly good beer to the Selangor state government office, and destroy them in the name of … uh, people who don’t drink beer and already canceled microbrew festivals?
The Sungai Besar Umno leader arrived at the office at 10am this morning, with several of his cohorts, carrying crates of beer that had their brand masked by the logo of The Better Beer Festival 2017.
Our vote? Cases of Tiger! Roar!
The beer fest hit headlines recently after city officials refused to grant the necessary permits to hold it, citing everything from political sensitivity, to bacchanalia, to the most recent – “IS security concerns.”
Jamal stood in front of the gate and declared, ”today I want to send all these beers to (Selangor First Minister) Azmin Ali’s office. He and his gang can drink all they want inside but not anywhere outside.”
They then proceeded to destroy the beers, making it impossible to enjoy anything sent, neither inside, nor outside. A pool of hops, hopes, and tears in the morning sun.
A security officer then told them they simply couldn’t just leave beer and broken glass at the entrance.
Jamal would have none of it. With no further comments, he and his band of merry men left.
Stay classy, guys.
