Proton: Bring your Inspira in for a free inspection

Proton is asking owners of its Inspira cars that were made between September 2010 to May 2011 to get their cars inspected for free at an authorised Proton service centre.

Proton said the free inspection and repair campaign by Mitsubishi Malaysia Motor will involve checking the V-ribbed belt and brake booster in selected completely built up (CBU) Mitsubishi models.

“It is believed that the ‘Drive Belt Pulley’ unit in the Proton Inspira cars manufactured during the stated period may develop possible pulley wear after a certain mileage or driving condition. This will cause premature wear and tear to the unit, possibly resulting in battery depletion and engine overheating, as well as increasing steering effort for the power steering system,” the company said on its Facebook page.

It added that all labour and parts costs related to the issue will be waived. Up to 5,280 Proton Inspira cars are involved in this inspection.
