How’s this for a Chinese New Year surprise? Despite the festive season shopping rush, the price of chicken is dropping as we inch closer to the big day.
According to the portal www.1pengguna.com, the price of chicken around KL dropped to RM3.88 a kilo from the previous high of RM4.99.
In Johor, chicken dropped from RM6.99 a kilo to RM5.98, while in Sabah and Sarawak, its price went down from RM8.20 a kilo to RM7.99.
The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) advises the public to check up regularly on 1pengguna.com, which the ministry operates, to monitor the price of essential goods around the country.
Members of the public are also encouraged to submit their complaints on prices of goods via the KPDNKK hotline at 1-800-886-800 or to fill out the complaint forms provided on the portal.
