One of Malaysia’s largest telco providers, Digi Telecommunications, is reportedly going through a nationwide blackout, with hundreds of tweets complaining that users are either unable to get service, or working under slower than usual connections speed. Users began complaining late last night, and the issue has persisted well into Thursday morning.

Taking to their Twitter account, Digi is asking users to please be patient, and to restart their phones to see if they are able to reconnect to the network.
The telco hopes to restore full service within the next four hours, calling this morning’s interruption “unplanned.”

While Wi-Fi dependent apps appear to be working, phone calls, SMS and data connectivity are currently affected.

No reason has been given for the sudden outage, and Digi is asking users to check a dedicated webpage for updates.
