Popular actor Farid Kamil under arrest after slapping officer at a police station

Popular actor Datuk Farid Kamil, known for his gangster and tough-guy movie portrayals, has found himself under actual arrest after assaulting an officer and a civilian while at a Kota Damansara police station.

At the station to report an accident, the 37-year-old husband of equally popular actress Diana Danielle reportedly slapped an on-duty policeman, and was promptly arrested.

Arrested at the police station: probably the most convenient place for all parties involved.

Slapping an officer while at a police station: dumbest thing we’ve heard in 2018.

Suspicious of his state, police then ran a urine test on the actor, and it came back positive for marijuana. He is set to appear in court this morning to have his remand order issued.

After arriving at the station around 1:20pm with another person to report an accident, the officer began to question Farid regarding the events that led up to the fender bender. Instead of answering his questions, he took out his mobile phone and showed the officer a message that read: “300 artistes borrowing money from loan sharks due to lack of jobs.”

Questioning what this message had to do with the accident, the actor then slapped the querying officer across the face.

Three civilians and another officer witnessed the incident, which doesn’t bode well for our screen star.

The Evolusi KL Drift star then took another civilian at the station to task, and kicked him, before officers restrained him and slapped the cuffs on.

Farid’s breakthrough role was when he was in 2004, with the thriller Tujuh Perhentian.

Since then he has starred and directed in many movies which were box-office hits such as Anak Halal, Kala Bulan Mengambang, V3 Samseng Jalanan and Tombiruo.

When contacted for comment from various media outlets, the actor’s wife, Diana Danielle wrote via WhatsApp: “Please let us deal with the situation at hand. (I am) not going to comment at all.”
