Policeman lauded for lending disabled man a helping hand

Netizens showered a Taman Tun Dr Ismail policeman with praise after he was pictured giving a disabled man a ride to the bus stand.

According to The New Straits Times, Corporal Mohd Ropi Mat Ali and his colleague were doing their rounds around the TTDI area via motorcycle when they came across the disabled man.

The man, who didn’t have legs, was reportedly struggling to cross the road as it was congested.

“The traffic was bad. I figure it would be hard for him to cross the road. I decided to give him a lift to the bus stand along Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad, just about 300 metres from there,” the kind-hearted policeman was quoted as saying.

Mohd Ropi’s act of kindness warmed the hearts of many – including that of Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

“Congratulations Corporal Ropi from Taman Tun Dr Ismail motorcycle patrol unit for helping a disabled man while patrolling,” he said in a Facebook post.
