Policeman falls to his death while fleeing ‘khalwat’ raid

A local policeman fell to his death while reportedly trying to escape from a ‘khalwat’ (close proximity) raid, Bernama reports.

The incident reportedly happened at around 2am on Tuesday when the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) raided an apartment unit in Pandan Perdana.

Panicked, the 34-year-old policeman — reportedly a Lance Corporal attached to the Bukit Jalil police station — tried to escape the raid by climbing out the unit window, located on the fourth floor of the apartment block.

Unfortunately, the policeman reportedly slipped and fell to his death.

According to the news agency, Jais officers questioned a woman in the apartment unit the victim was in, and she admitted that she was his lover.

Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Hamzah Alias told Bernama that the case has been classified as sudden death and no criminal elements were found.
