The sedition crackdown is about to reach Anwar Ibrahim.
Police are looking to question him over a speech delivered in Gombak back in 2011.
According to PKR lawyer Latheefa Koya, the Opposition leader and PKR adviser is expected to meet Ampang police at the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya at 3pm this Friday.
Speaking to the Malay Mail Online’s Joseph Sipalan, Latheefa said the 2011 sedition case involved newly-appointed Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali and two others. All three have had their statements recorded.
“We don’t even know what is seditious about the whole thing. They will be coming to PKR headquarters on Friday at 3pm and only then we will know,” Latheefa was quoted as saying.
She added that a senior cop, ASP Khairil, explained that Anwar was now questioned because he too had given a speech at the Gombak ceramah.
