Police hunt for two suspects linked to Damansara Perdana condo bomb discovery

The discovery of five homemade bombs in a condominium unit in Damansara Perdana yesterday has led to a hunt for two people in Kuala Lumpur.

Police — who safely detonated the explosives at a nearby open area — say the suspects still at large are a 37-year-old man known as ‘Ah Chong’ and a 39-year-old woman.

“A raid was carried out at 4.30am on a condominium unit in Damansara Perdana to track down the suspects,” Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad was quoted as saying in Bernama report.

“However, they managed to escape and police found seven firecracker-shaped bombs, as well as electronic devices, drugs believed to be syabu weighing 2kg, and some Eramin Five pills,” he was quoted further.

More than 200 residents of the condominium were forced to leave the building following the discovery of these explosives in one of the units of the 23-storey block.

According to Zainuddin, both the wanted individuals had also been involved in an assault and arson case in Sri Petaling on Saturday.

It was reported that 9kg of drugs — said to be ketamine — 1kg of cocaine were found in a car belonging to the suspects which was parked at the condominium.
