Police on the hunt for gangbanger ‘Sun Boy’ for brutal Banting murder

The Royal Malaysian Police are conducting a manhunt for a man they suspect to have been behind an attack in Telok Panglima Garang, Banting on February 10, that left the senior lieutenant of a crime gang hacked to death.

31-year old M Shanmugam, popularly known as ‘Sun Boy’, is now wanted by the police after eight other individuals were hauled up by Selangor PDRM forces a few hours after the attack left the 35-year old gang member dead.

The eight men arrested were aged between 19 and 34 years old; seven were Malaysians while another was a Nepalese national.

Selangor Crime Investigation Department chief Mohd Adnan Abdullah told Harian Metro that Sun Boy is believed to have ties to the homicide, and has absconded from his last known address of No 14, Jalan Dendang 62, Taman Sahabat, Telok Panglima Garang, Banting.

“Members of the public who have information on the suspect’s whereabouts and recent activities are urged to contact Chief Inspecting Officer Anuar Hamin at 013-291 8584 or the nearest police station,” he said.
