The police had to assure the public that dismembered JB baby case had nothing to do with black magic

Police officers investigating the case of an infant found dismembered in a water treatment plant near Johor Bahru had to allay public fears that there was black magic involved. Because apparently people were worried that there was?

Johor Bahru Utara district police chief ACP Mohd Khamsani Abdul Rahmad told Harian Metro that his officers found no evidence that the case had anything to do with alleged mystic ritualism, and attributed the grisly incident to societal ills.

“The police have found nothing that would suggest any involvement of black magic or ritual sacrifice in the surrounding area.

“In fact, no reports of any kind of those activities have ever been lodged by local residents.”

He added that black magic or mystic rituals usually involved the use of live human body parts, whereas the remains found on Monday morning point to the infant victim having already died before its body was cut into pieces.
