The police have reportedly found an object believed to be a homemade explosive device beside a road in Sentul on Wednesday.
According to a report by The Star Online, a member of the public found the device at Lorong Kolam Air 9, which runs next to a railroad track, and alerted the police at 4.35pm.
After receiving the call, a team of investigators and a bomb squad were dispatched to the scene.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Amar Singh told the news portal that the object was a plastic bottle wrapped with paper and plastic.
The bottle, according to Amar, reportedly contained glass shards and ball bearings as well as powder, believed to be from firecrackers.
Amar added that the police were investigating the case.
