Police ask for assistance in viral child abuse clip

Malaysian police are now investigating a horrifying clip of a woman abusing a young girl that was uploaded to Facebook and widely shared across social media.

The harrowing one-minute and 36-second video was purportedly shot in Malaysia, and was even shared on the Facebook page of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) who have asked for anyone with any relevant information to come forward, despite the fact that no formal police report has been filed in the matter.

While the shooter of the video is unknown, the two subjects can clearly be seen, a mother and child. At various intervals in the clip, the woman can be seen beating, slapping and punching the young baby girl as she changes her diaper and clothes in a dark, dingy room.

The victim appears to be younger than a year old, and cries throughout the incident. Eventually the woman then grabs the child by her neck using her shirt, and appears to strangle her.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact police.
