Police appeal for witnesses in Setapak shooting

The police are seeking witnesses to the shoot and kill incident in Setapak last week, according to a report by Bernama.

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa told the daily that the police are currently investigating the case, but they needed more information, especially from members of the public who witnessed the incident.

“We urge members of the public who have information about the case to come forward to assist us,” SAC Rusdi was quoted as saying.

Last Wednesday, a 43-year-old moneylender was shot 18 times by two gunmen on motorcycles at a traffic light intersection near Setapak Central. Ten shots reportedly hit the victim.

Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar told The New Straits Times last week that the suspected gunmen are likely still in the country.
