Setting aside political rivalry, Prime Minister Najib Razak visited PAS spiritual Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat whose health has suffered since the floods hit recently.
At Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan yesterday, Najib met with the 84-year-old leader who has reportedly been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer.
“Let us all pray to Allah SWT for his speedy recovery,” Najib tweeted to his 2.3 million followers yesterday.
His son Nik Mohamad Abduh said on Wednesday that his father’s condition appears to be improving and that he could be discharged soon, Bernama reports.
“My father was able to sit in a wheelchair for the first time and he sat there for half an hour. That is enough to make me happy,” he was quoted as saying.
“There were some non-Muslim friends who asked for permission to visit my father to pray for him. I am grateful. Although we are of different faiths, God will listen to prayers from everyone,” he added.
