Prime Minister Najib Razak would like to someday have a ‘lovely car’, just like US President Barack Obama’s official car, “The Beast”.
Najib said the car was more comfortable that his own official car —a customised Proton Perdana limousine — the Malay Mail Online’s Kamles Kumar reports.
“It is more comfortable than my Proton. It feels safe because it is bulletproof and can withstand explosives up to a certain intensity,” he was quoted as saying, adding that it was well-equipped with safety features and was spacious.
“Probably you can move the 7th fleet with The Beast. A very lovely car, I wish I had one,” the MMO quoted Najib as saying at the Wild Digital Conference today.
The custom-built Cadillac — with night vision cameras, puncture-proof tires, oxygen tanks and armour plated fuel tanks — has been brought to Malaysia twice on both Obama’s visits to Malaysia.
It was in those occasions that Najib shared the ride, commenting today that the car could ‘easily fit a four-person meeting’. It was also reportedly in the vehicle that Najib and Obama made plans to golf together in Hawaii.
