If a race could be equated to an animal, what do you think yours would be?
According to Jabi assemblyman and Terengganu state exco Dr Azman Ibrahim, it’s pork or, should we say, ‘babi’, for the Chinese.
In a sarcastic comment made in poor taste recently, Jabi assemblyman and Terengganu state exco Dr Azman Ibrahim from Islamist party PAS congratulated the deputy minister of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) for being able to bring the Proposal to stabilize Pork Prices to be discussed in Cabinet.

“Congratulations Deputy Minister of MAFS Chan Foong Hin for taking a step forward to champion the plight of the Chinese,” Azman wrote based on a news article he shared.
The article from Malaysiakini mentions the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities as the reason for the request to stabilise pork prices.
Following a meeting with MAFS, which was represented by Chan, the issue was yesterday disclosed by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, Salahuddin Ayub.
However, the blatant sarcasm was picked up by plenty of social media users who were quick to call him out for being racist.
Many also pointed out to him (although they didn’t need to) that pork-eaters in Malaysia include non-Chinese as well.
If this is not racist, I don’t know what is. https://t.co/m1Ir3FBSZl

“They’re Chinese and they eat pork, so it’s only logical they ask a Chinese to bring this up. What’s the problem?”
Eh bodohnya kau ni ingat dekat malaysia ni melayu je ke yang nak makan? https://t.co/rIf70WJh5v

“You are so stupid. You think only Malays eat in this country?”
Do you think his words were made in poor taste? Or is it just a pig-ment of our imagination.
