Netizens are furious after photos showing a dead cat tied to a lamp post in Klang went viral on Facebook.
A resident of Taman Klang Jaya, 32-year-old Wong Che Wey, told The Star Online that he found the cat hanging on a lamp post just outside his house after coming back from work on Wednesday. He took a few photos and shared it on his Facebook page, before digging a hole to bury the cat.
“Living in a sick neighbourhood where the strays being tortured to death,” Wong wrote on his Facebook page.
His post quickly went viral, having been shared more than 5,500 times.
Wong also told The Star that the cat, which recently gave birth to a litter of kittens, was a regular stray and was always friendly with the residents.
