Petaling Street topless fight queen pleads not guilty

Shanna Avril, the mid-2000s model who shot to notoriety after being captured on video fighting with a chicken rice stall owner in Petaling Street with her top off (we love being able to type those words out) entered a plea of not guilty in court today to the charge of commutting public obscenity.

The 32-year old former model and spa employee, whose real name is Persana Avirl Sollunda, initially entered her not guilty plea on April 28, after being detained by police on April 25.

Her lawyer, Muhammad Nor Izzat Nordin, asked for Shanna’s bail to be lowered from the original RM10,000 due to the “small” nature of her charged offence, and managed to get her released on RM7,000 bail.

While out on bail, she was ordered by the court to hand over her passport, and has been barred from leaving Peninsular Malaysia. Shanna is from Sabah.

Her next court date is scheduled to be on May 29.

On April 23, Shanna was allegedly the focus of a viral video depicting a person believed to be her arguing with the owner of a Petaling Street chicken rice stall over payment of a RM18 meal.

Over the course of the video, the woman believed to be Shanna stripped off her shirt and bra while challenging the stall owner to fight her.

Her companion, a foreign Caucasian man, was believed to have gotten into an altercation with the restaurant staff prior to the video being captured, also over the unpaid bill.
