After getting everyone and their uncle to take notice of her last week, the main attraction of the recent viral video of a topless woman arguing outside a Petaling Street chicken rice stall has been outed as a local model, Malaysian Digest reports.
Shanna Avril, who is of Kadazan, Chinese, and Indian descent, was an active player in the Malaysian modelling scene in the mid-2000s, when she became a participant in the 2005 Dewi Remaja beauty contest, and a few local TV programmes.
Harian Metro‘s Sarah Zulkifli reports that Shanna, whose real name is Persana Avril Sollunda, pleaded not guilty this morning in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate Court on the charge of public indecency.
Shanna was denied bail, and May 29 was set for the cae’s mention in court.
Last Friday, a video of a local woman arguing with the proprietor of a chicken rice stall in Petlaing Street went viral. In the video, a woman believed to be Shanna became combative when she was asked to pay for her meal, insisting that she had “left the money on the table”.
Shocking everyone present (and delighting anyone who clicked on the YouTube link), she proceeded to escalate the argument by peeling off her jacket, tank top, and bra, daring the stall owner to go toe to toe with her sassy (drug-addled)topless self.
Classy.
