A child in Kedah has been seriously injured following an attack by her pet monkey, Bernama reports.
The six-year-old girl was reportedly bitten on her right calf in Kampung Paya Mengkuang, Pendang, around 5pm while she was playing with her cousin and friends outside her home.
The monkey was wearing a collar fixed to a chain when the incident happened.
It was reported that a villager who had seen Nur Syahadatul Fatehah Mohd Shahbudin crying and bleeding from her calf, informed the girl’s mother.
“We rushed her to the Yan Hospital and she had to be transferred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital because the wound was deep,” her mother, Mashitah Taha, 40, told Bernama.
Nur Syahadatul Fatehah is reportedly set to undergo surgery today.
