Penang funfair goers stranded in the air after ride suddenly malfunctions

Boy, these adrenaline seekers definitely got their money’s worth.

Eight people were left stranded in the air after their amusement park ride suddenly malfunctioned on Friday.

According to The Star Online, the incident reportedly happened at the Euro Fun Park at Pesta Pulau Pinang in Sungai Nibong at around 11.26pm.

The eight brave souls who were on the Vortex were reportedly left stranded in the air for more than six minutes after the machine malfunctioned halfway through the ride.

The organisers took to their official Facebook page to clarify the situation:

“It was a technical glitch and no one was injured.

“The visitors were brought down manually to the ground at 11.32pm. The tokens were also refunded to them,” the organisers wrote in the post.

They added that the Vortex ride, reportedly made in Germany, had received approval from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
