Peeping Tom wanted by police for stalking woman in restroom

Police are searching for a man who peered at a 32-year-old woman at the National Sports Complex restroom in Section 21, Shah Alam.

According to Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the incident took place on August 15.  The victim, who is a teacher, brought her students to the centre to rehearse for a Merdeka Day celebration parade. 

“When the teacher was in the toilet, she was shocked to see a man peeping at her from above the adjacent cubicle,” he said in a statement.

“The teacher screamed and the man fled.

“She could only see his eyes. She said she did not see the man holding any equipment to film her,” he said, adding that a police report was lodged the same day.

Iqbal said the case is being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for house-trespassing and insulting behaviour.

He said that in order to assist identify the suspect, his detectives are getting the CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage from the surrounding vicinity.

The CCTV footage that went viral showed a woman entering the toilet while leaving the door open, a few seconds later, a man dressed in all black was seen already in the toilet, it seemed like he was peering through the cubicles before closing the toilet door from the inside. 

A few minutes later, it showed the perpetrator exiting the toilet rather calmly.
