Rising prices bringing you down? You might want to check out an alternative economic model – behold, Pasar Percuma: the literal Free Market.
On Thaipusam Day this Friday from 4 to 7pm, head down to the Dataran Medan Pasar (where the Lebuh Ampang Clock Tower is) to participate in Pasar Percuma. All you need to do is bring something you wouldn’t mind giving away for free – items like books, clothing, or food; or skills like photography, consultation, backrubs, or even just a decent conversation – and offer them to anyone at the Pasar Percuma. In turn, you’re free (we really need to stop using that word) to “purchase” anything you like, also for free. Just don’t get greedy.
This is the second Pasar Percuma organized by Facebook Group, Pasar Percuma Malaysia, who plan on setting up more of these free markets in the future. Spread the word and bring yourself down (and maybe a few things to “sell”) on Friday. Bring what you want, take what you need!
