Police crashed a party at a nightclub in Jalan Kuchai around midnight, arresting all 55 present at the outlet.
The raid happened at 12.15am after a month-long surveillance on the entertainment outlet over suspicion of harbouring foreigners and vice activities, The Star Online‘s Nadirah H. Rodzi reports.
Five transgenders from Thailand were among those arrested and taken to the Brickfields police headquarters.
According to the daily, patrons at the outlet were given the chance to purchase interesting ‘gifts’ for their favourite ‘entertainers’ and these include necklaces, robes, sashes and tiaras priced up to RM10,000.
Bukit Aman’s Special Task Force for Anti-vice, Gaming and Gangsterism deputy commander Senior Asst Comm Khairi Ahrasa told The Star that none of the guest relations officers (GROs) had work permits.
“Checks showed that the GROs charged RM150 to RM450 for each sex session,” he was quoted as saying.
