Parking dispute turns into free-for-all brawl

‘If you can’t win an argument, start fighting,’ said no one ever.

What started off as a heated dispute turned into a seemingly full-blown fight between a mechanic and an insurance agent at a workshop in Jurong, Singapore on Wednesday.

In a one-and-a-half minute video that went viral on Facebook, the men were seen arguing in Hokkien in front of the shop. The mechanic, reportedly a Malaysian, was trying to prevent the agent from entering the workshop, while one of the former’s friends recorded the whole incident.

Suddenly, the agent’s female companion started harrassing the person recording the video by spouting vulgarities at him, allegedly saying: “This is Singapore, okay! What the f**k are you saying?”

As the agent forced his way into the workshop, the mechanic was pushed to the floor.

Undeterred, the mechanic got to his feet and continued pulling the man back, who appeared to be walking to the workshop’s office. That set off another brawl and this time, the female companion got involved.

She was seen swinging a white umbrella at the mechanic, and later seen kicking him.

According to a news report by Singapore’s Channel 8 News, the fight was between the employees of the workshop and the staff from a neighbouring insurance company. Both companies have reportedly been at loggerheads since January.

The news report also stated that the feud likely started due to irresponsible parking in front of their premises by employees from both companies.

The Singaporean police are already investigating the case, according to the news site.
