An elderly man, who is paralysed, was finally rescued from his flat unit in Nilai after being trapped for three days.
Nilai Fire and Rescue Department Senior Officer II Mohd Syazwan Saidy told The New Straits Times that the department received a distress call from 73-year-old Wong Tian Suan’s daughter, who reportedly stays in Seremban, at around 11am.
“His daughter informed us that her father had been trapped in the unit, located on the first floor, for three days,” Mohd Syazwan was quoted as saying.
Ten firefighters rushed to the scene, and after breaking down the front grille, they reportedly found Wong lying face down on the floor.
He is believed to be living on his own.
Mohd Syazwan told the daily that Wong, who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes, was given immediate early medical treatment on the spot by the Emergency Medical Response Service.
He was then rushed to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban for further treatment.
