The owner of two American bulldogs which attacked three people in Kampung Masjid Lenggeng near Seremban last week, including a police officer, pleaded guilty in the Seremban magistrate’s court on Wednesday.
Lam Soon Seng, 51, was not represented by a lawyer when he entered his plea before Magistrate Mohamad Izwan Mohamed Noh. He was charged with three counts of negligence in allowing his two dogs to stray in a public place, thus causing injury to maid Rukimah Juwandi, 51, food stall operator Hoosni Anuar Hamid, 44, and Lans Koperal Mohd Nasir Sulaiman of the PDRM.
Rukimah lost part of her scalp, broke her left arm and was bitten all over her body. Hoosni, a nasi lemak seller, was bitten on the arms, legs and face, while Mohd Nasir was bitten on the leg.
The incident happened on Aril 23 between 7am and 7.50am.
Lam, who runs a chilli farm in the village, faces a six-month jail term or a RM2,000 fine, or both, upon conviction.
He did appeal for a lowered bail as he already had to bear the cost of the victims’ hospital bills and had not received any income from his farm due to unfavourable weather.
Mohamad Izwan set the bail at RM2,500 for each charge and fixed mention on May 20 pending a medical report on Rukimah.
