It’s a tough job being a traffic cop. If you’re not part of an altercation over illicit parking in Ampang, you getting unidentified corrosive liquids sprayed in your face by the person whose illegally parked car you just clamped.

Yesterday afternoon, a Subang Jaya municipal council (MPSJ) officer had just that happen to him, after the owner of a Honda City parked in an undesignated space in front of a restaurant on Jalan Puteri 1 / 4 in Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

The MPSJ officer was with a fellow colleague, clamping and ticketing the vehicle, when the Honda’s owner and his alleged wife emerged and began to act aggressively towards the men.

Mid-argument, the man brandished a canister, and sprayed one of the officer’s faces, and subsequently fled the scene on foot. Considering the car was still clamped, and its owner easily identifiable via the license plate registration, it’s only a matter of time before the 5-0 come a’knockin.

Police have urged the couple to surrender themselves, and save the embarrassment of being hauled in.

Meanwhile, the officer is said to have eye irritation, including blurred vision and difficulty breathing.

We sincerely hope that the officer recovers from this horrible act.

Again, humans of KL, people with cars … honestly – getting into a fracas with police or city officials while they have physically locked your car down has to be the dumbest thing you can do that morning considering that you 1) will be immediately identified and 2) still have no car, and have to face the indignity of fleeing on foot.
