Out of control 10-tonne lorry crashes into 14 cars at Jalan Duta

No, this isn’t a repeat of the Great Parking Revenge of Nibong Tebal.

This was slightly different — a 10-tonne lorry carrying sand lost control yesterday evening, crashing into 14 cars along Jalan Duta (known also as Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim) yesterday.

The incident happened at 4.50pm, Bernama reports, with no casualties (phew!), except a few motorists with minor injuries.

“The lorry driver, 32, claimed he lost control due to brake failure as the lorry was descending a downhill stretch of the expressway while heading towards the city centre,” Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Legal Staff officer DSP S. Markandan was quoted as saying.

The incident happened during rush hour on a congested five-lane expressway. The driver was taken to the KL traffic police station for questioning.
