One good deed costs a Form Three student his life as he falls to his death

All he wanted to do was to help his friend retrieve his schoolbag, but the Form Three student lost his life when he fell to his death.

According to a news report by Astro Awani, 15-year-old Azim Hakimi Abu Shuja — a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Presint 9 (2) — fell from the third floor of the school at around 9.30am on Monday.

Azim was reportedly trying to help his friend retrieve his school bag, which was thrown outside by another schoolmate, from the ledge outside the school window.

As he went out to the corridor to retrieve the bag, Azim reportedly lost his balance and fell off the side of the building.

Azim was pronounced dead on the spot.

Putrajaya district police chief ACP Rosly Hassan told the news portal that the case was classified as sudden death, adding that the boy’s body was sent to the Putrajaya Hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family told The New Straits Times that they have accepted the tragedy as fate.

Muhammad Aliff, Azim’s brother, told the daily that he found out about the incident when he received a call from the school’s management.

“I immediately rush to the hospital. Although the tragedy came as a shock to us, we have to accept the loss as fate,” he was quoted as saying.

Azim’s mother, 53-year-old Zalina Kamis, told the daily that her youngest son appeared more reserved and had become more quiet lately.

“Even this morning, he did not talk to me much but he did waved goodbye to me as he stepped out of the car,” she told The New Straits Times.
