Lawmaker Nurul Izzah Anwar has finalised her divorce from businessman Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim.
The New Straits Times reports that the PKR vice-president and mother of two who had sought a split from her 36-year-old husband since 2013 ended her marriage at the KL Syariah High Court after her husband pronounced the ‘talak satu’.
According to the daily, Syarie judge Mohd Amran Mat Zain ordered Nurul Izzah, 35, not to re-marry in the three months following the divorce yesterday.
“The marriage certificate issued previously is to be revoked and details on the divorce to be registered,” Mohd Amran was quoted as saying.
Nurul Izzah, the eldest daughter of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and Raja Ahmad Shahrir now share custody of their daughter,8, and son, 5.
