The cosmetics tycoon, whose real name is Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman, confirmed her interest in taking over the troubled airlines to The Star Online.
“Yes, I have interest in this airline business but I will have to look at the problems first and how I will go about this,” she said.
The news website has also reported that the businesswoman is set to meet Rayani Air owner Ravi Alagendrran, who is said to be willing to sell off his 51% stake at the airline, provided that the new owner maintains its Syariah-compliant status.
Currently, Rayani Air is serving the second of its three-month suspension for violating the conditions of its Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
