Not a drive-through? Customer crashes car into restaurant

A regular customer at a Bukit Mertajam restaurant drove straight into the shop on Wednesday morning.

According to Bernama, the man, in his 60s, had driven right into the eatery in Taman IKS Bukit Minyak at 5.45am. Restaurant owner Sharifah Ismail, 50 was quoted as saying that she heard an ‘earth-shattering’ sound as she lit up the stoves.

She then found the man being helped out of his car by passers-by. He escaped unhurt, but was reportedly badly shaken.

So, what happened here? The man had mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. The poor owner, however, suffered up to RM20,000 in damages.

Watch those pedals, folks.
