Are your jaded hearts ready to get warmed a couple of degrees? Good, because we’ve got quite the story.

A group of Fire and Rescue officers in Malaysia’s norther state of Kedah went viral this week, after their efforts to rescue a litter of puppies from a nearby burning field made its way into the general public consciousness.

Firefighters from the Kulim Hi Tech station were called to a field blaze in the town of Padang Serai, Kulim on Monday, and amid the bush fire discovered a litter of puppies that had become separated from their mother in an adjacent patch.

Distress calls came to the station at 3:38pm, and six members were dispatched to the nearby area. At approximately 4:30pm, some of the individuals heard dogs barking, and found the puppies in the middle of a bush. Luckily, the group were able to remove four of the dogs from the field, as it soon began to fill with thick smoke from the nearby blaze.

As they continued to fight the blaze, another puppy who had become lost was discovered, with burns to his foot. Firefighters managed to rescue the pup, and the five were taken to the nearby Fire Department, where they were given water and a bath.
