We must be living under a canopy forest with all of this #SHADE around.
Nonagenarian Twitter maestro, and low-key verbal roaster, former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad “congratulated” current Prime Minister Najib Razak over his trip to Washington D.C. last month.
Make no mistake, the former PM was definitely saying this with his tongue planted firmly in cheek.
On his personal blog, he wrote – “congratulations to the government, Najib and the Barisan Nasional (BN) ministers. You have put Malaysia on the world map.”
Free Malaysia Today writes that when Prime Minister Najib Razak met President Donald Trump, and his senior administration, on September 13, he told US officials that he wanted to help “strengthen” their economy via investments in infrastructure development and the purchase of dozens of Boeing jets (sorry, Airbus – désolé).
Sarcastically, (there’s a lot of sarcasm going around lately), he wrote that he was “proud” that for the first time a Malaysian Prime Minister was able to “save a superpower.”
Politics knows no chill: At 92-year-old, few would guess that a former statesman would still be on his Regina George A-game.
Dr Mahathir also addressed allegations of insinuation via blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin that he paid DAP leader Lim Kit Siang RM1 billion to support his bid for chairman of Pakatan Harapan.
He asked “what is so great about me? No money, and far from being able to bribe Kit Siang with RM1 billion.”
Modesty, thy name is Dr M.
Why all the ire, one may wonder? Could it be because the son of deceased politician Tan Sri Megat Junid Megat Ayub claimed that his father paid millions of Ringgit to secure Dr Mahathir a meeting with then-President George W. Bush in 2002?
One thing is certain – with this much shade and the election hasn’t even been called yet, expect an eclipse come voting day.
