Next-door neighbours in Chow Kit fined RM1,000 for fighting

Two men, who live next to each other on Chow Kit’s Lorong Haji Taib, were fined RM1,000 each in default of a month in prison for fighting each other.

The KL Magistrate’s Court handed down the sentence to hotel worker Madnapis Karim, 33, and unemployed 52-year old Hassan Md Isa, after both pleaded guilty to their respective charges.

Madnapis pleaded guilty to causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, while Hassan pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt.

On March 6, both men got into an altercation at about 11.40pm on the third floor of a shop house where they live. Madnapis attacked Hassan with an iron rod, while Hassan punched Madnapis on the right arm and leg.

During mitigation, Madnapis pleaded in tears that he had a wife and four children to support.
