According to our country’s Prime Minister Najib Razak, the newly opened Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network is rated “better than London, New York or Hong Kong. And on par with Singapore.”
Not shy of hyperbole, then are we, Mr. Prime Minister?
Certainly not when he deemed it the “most modern” MRT system in the world. Modernity it seems starts not with speed, punctuality, Wi-Fi access nor extensiveness, but by virtue of being the latest edition to global public transport.
The Malay Mail writes that after the completion of the second phase line to Kajang, the public transportation system will now be integraded with the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area’s other public transportation systems, the Light Rail Transit, the KTM commuter trains, and the KLIA Transit. It’s “only the beginning,” says the PM.
Can’t wait, but in the meantime I guess we’ll … wait?
