Malaysia’s disgraced former prime minister Najib Razak and his controversial wife Rosmah Mansor have welcomed their new grandson in Singapore, a photo shared by their daughter showed.
Najib, 68, was photographed carrying the weeks-old Aidan Najib Daniyar with Rosmah, 69, holding the baby’s left hand. The couple were able to travel to Singapore after the Malaysian court granted them permission to take back their passports temporarily, years after they were seized as the duo faced charges linked to the misappropriation of state funds.
“[First] meeting between baby Aidan Najib and Atok Bossku,” their daughter, Noryana Najwa, said, referring to her father’s nickname. She gave birth to her second child on Nov. 1.
Nooryana’s brother Norashman Najib was also present at the family reunion.
Both Najib and Rosmah, known for her wide collection of Birkin bags, managed to get their passports back to meet with their grandson after they were confiscated in 2018 during the 1Malaysia Development Berhad trial, in which the pair were charged with money laundering and corruption.
