Less than two weeks in prison and former prime minister and felon, Najib Abdul Razak, has already checked himself into a hospital for unknown medical reasons.
A classy move by privileged convicts to avoid being in jail.
According to his special officer, Muhamad Muhklis Maghrib, the 69 year-old was sent for a check-up at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, although he did not specify what treatment the disgraced prime minister was seeking.
“I wish to thank the prison authorities and the Hospital Kuala Lumpur staff for the cooperation and help given,” said Muhammad said in a brief statement yesterday.
Najib began serving a 12-year prison term on Aug. 23 for embezzling RM42 million (US$ 10 million) from 1MDB-linked company SRC International after his final appeal to overturn his guilty verdict was rejected by the Supreme Court.
