Najib: Crime index down to 40 percent in five years

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has proudly announced that the national crime index has reduced to 40 per cent since he took over at the nation’s chief executive.

More specifically, since he launched the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) five years ago.

“In the Reducing Crime, National Key Result Areas (NKRA) we are grateful as the national crime index rate under the GTP has been reduced to 40 per cent within five-year period. What is more important is that efforts to reduce crime will continue,” he said during the launch of the 2014 GTP annual report and Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), Bernama reports.

Among the highlights was a reduction in vehicle theft which went down to 20 percent.
