Two robbers posing as policemen managed to avoid the real cops after a mugging in the early hours of this morning … but their escape was shortlived.
In the 4.30am incident, the two suspects, both in their 20s, pulled up in their Proton Saga to their 18-year old victim in Pekan Kapar, near Klang. One of the suspects allegedly identified himself as a police officer while displaying a pair of handcuffs.
A source from the PDRM told Harian Metro that one of the suspects also held the victim in a chokehold and threatened to arrest the victim for possession of drugs, even though the victim denied having any narcotics on him.
“The suspects patted down the victim and seized his personal belongings, including a mobile phone and RM500 in cash, as well as his personal identification documents and his bank cards,” the source added.
Afterr the incident, the victim rushed to lodge a report at the Kapar police station.
Police were able to track down the perpetrators based on the description of their car. The suspects were arrested less than an hour later at 5.30am in Taman Aman Kapar.
