A 21-year-old who panicked after seeing a police roadblock at Jalan Loke Yew early yesterday, died when a car rammed into him as he tried to run away.
In the 12.20am, the motorcyclist, identified as Muhammad Fakhrul Afiq Ab Hamid from Cheras Baru, had crossed the road divider just 20 metres before the roadblock but ended up being hit by a Proton Iswara on the fast lane of the opposite direction, the New Straits Times reports.
Police later found that Muhammad Fakhrul’s Yamaha RXZ ‘s road tax had no been renewed since 2013.
“The victim was thrown onto the road, initial checks found that he sustained serious injuries to his head and body. “He was pronounced dead on the spot by a team of medical responder,” KL traffic police deputy chief Deputy Superintendent S. Markandan was quoted as saying.
