Sad news on a hazy Monday: The Sandakan, Sabah chapter of the Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA) posted heartbreaking photos to their Facebook page over the weekend, showing images of a mama dog, with her five puppies surrounding her, poisoned by food left out for them to eat that had been laced with deadly compounds.

Reporting that the incident was discovered on Friday evening by residents of the Taman Sejati Ujana neighborhood of the city, located on the far eastern side of Sabah, the SPCA writes that only one of the puppies was found alive, but in serious condition, and has been sent to a nearby shelter for treatment.
Netizens have responded to the news with widespread condemnation, cursing the individual who would act so cruelly, and forecasting a karmic comeuppance in their future.
Others are calling for tighter laws to prosecute those responsible.
One would certainly be hard pressed to find justification for wanting to murder an animal and her babies.
