A mother and her two-year old son escaped seroius injury yesterday evening, despite being involved in a traffic accident on Persiaran Tujuan in Subang that saw the vehicle they were travelling in flip and overturn.
In the 2.30pm incident, the 31-year old mother and her son emerged from the wreckage with only minor scrapes and bruises.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli told Sinar Harian, at the time of the accident, the victim was driving her sister’s Toyota Altis and was en route from Batu 3 Shah Alam to Bandar Sunway.
She was tailing a car driven by her husband at the time.
“The Persiaran Tujuan route had two exits into Bandar Sunway. The victim became confused and hesitated before taking her exit,” Yahaya said.
“It was then that another vehicle which was also trying to exit the freeway moved into her lane, causing her to panic and careen off to the right side of the road.”
Swerving suddenly to the right caused the victim’s car to ram into a road divider, before overturning, police investigations surmised.
Yahaya added that onlookers at the scene rushed to assist the mother and son out of the vehicle.
The car was wrecked, with a broken windhsield and tire rims.
The mother and her son were taken to a private clinic for outpatient treatment.
